Dear Friends of Blue Lotus Healing Arts,

These challenging times have brought many changes in our lives—how we work, shop, practice yoga, and spend time with friends.

It also changes how Blue Lotus operates now that our Stay at Home Order has been lifted.   With the guidance of the CDC, the NCCAOM (our national organization for the regulation of acupuncture), the ABMP (the national membership association for massage therapists), we have crafted best practices for keeping all of us safe when visiting our center.

Thank you for your patience as we incorporate these necessary changes to keep all of us safe.  And remember this is temporary.

Sincerely,

Kirsten & Kathleen

Policies and Procedures for

Acupuncture, Massage, and Health Coaching

(in-person appointments)

  • All acupuncture patients and massage clients will be required to sign a  COVID-19 waiver on their return to treatment.

  • All patients must wear a face mask at all times.  Massage clients will discuss with Michelle whether there is some flexibility in wearing the mask for the entire massage.

  • All practitioners will be wearing face masks and any other PPE required by their organization and the state of Massachusetts for safety during sessions.

  • All practitioners are screened daily for COVID-19 symptoms and have their temperature taken before beginning work.

  • All persons with appointments are required to text their practitioner the evening before if they are feeling unwell in any way.  Practitioners will text or call back to determine if the patient or client can be seen for their appointment the next day.

  • Anyone needing to cancel their appointment for the next day or the day of their appointment due to illness will not be charged a late cancellation fee.

  • On the day of your appointment, please bring a minimum of personal items.  Please also come alone and arrive at the time of your appointment.  If you are early, wait in your car or outside until your appointed time.  When you enter, please sanitize your hands and answer the COVID-19 screening questions.  You will then have your temperature taken and, on your first visit, be given the COVID-19 waiver to sign.

  • All our treatment rooms are cleaned and disinfected between each patient, including the treatment tables and hard surfaces.  The bathroom and high touch surfaces are also cleaned frequently throughout the day.  Floors are cleaned daily.

  • Any patient testing positive for COVID-19 after being seen at Blue Lotus Healing Arts must notify the center so appropriate actions (e.g. contact tracing) can be taken.

  • Practitioners testing positive for COVID-19 or when learning of a COVID-19 exposure will notify patients who were seen before the test to discuss possible quarantine.  Practitioners will also quarantine for14 days in these instances.

  • During COVID-19, we cannot accept walk-ins for appointments and/or inquiries. We are happy to answer all emails/phone calls within 24 to 48 hours.

  • If you tend to feel chilly during treatment, please bring one or two light blankets.
